Everything this diary holds, item by item.

This page is not boilerplate. It is written from the same inventory the app itself works from, so it lists 13 kinds of data and nothing else. Last reviewed September 2026.

What will never change

  • A private entry is stored as text and nothing more. Nothing is learned, linked or remembered from it.
  • Nothing is invented. No person, quote, relationship or piece of history appears unless it came from you.
  • Nothing outside the app is read without your explicit permission.
  • No advertising, no tracking pixels, no selling or sharing of anything you write.
  • Uncertain guesses arrive as a one-tap question, never as a stated fact.

The inventory

Showing 13 of 13 items.

Your account

The least we can hold and still know the diary is yours.

Email address and sign-in

Stored
Your email address, and a Google account identifier if you sign in with Google.
Why
To know the diary belongs to you and to let you back in.
Does it leave the app
Nothing. It is never sold, shared or used to market to you.
How to remove it
Deleting your account removes it, along with everything below.

Display name

Stored
A name, only if you set one.
Why
So the app can address you the way you prefer.
Does it leave the app
Nothing.
How to remove it
Clear it any time in your profile.

What you write

Entries are the whole point, so they get the strictest handling.

Entries

Stored
The text you write or dictate, the date, and whether you marked it private.
Why
So you can read back across any window of time.
Does it leave the app
A non-private entry is read once by the writing assistant to understand people and context. A private entry is never sent anywhere — it is stored as text and nothing else.
How to remove it
Delete any entry and it is gone, along with anything learned from it.

Dictation audio

Stored
Nothing. The recording is turned into text and discarded immediately.
Why
So you can speak instead of type.
Does it leave the app
The audio is transcribed, then dropped. No copy is kept anywhere.
How to remove it
Nothing to remove — the words live in your entry, and you can delete that.

Reflection questions and answers

Stored
The question the app asked after an entry, and your answer if you wrote one.
Why
So a thought can be picked back up rather than left hanging.
Does it leave the app
Nothing beyond the entry it belongs to.
How to remove it
Deleting the entry removes both.

People and context

Everything here came from something you wrote, and everything is correctable.

People

Stored
Names you mentioned or added, a relationship if you confirmed one, and notes drawn from your entries.
Why
So the app can hold the cast of your life without asking you to fill in a form.
Does it leave the app
Nothing. No name is ever looked up outside the app.
How to remove it
Correct a person, erase a single note, or delete the person entirely.

What the app remembers

Stored
Short facts about your current situation, each traceable to the entry it came from.
Why
So the app can be useful without re-asking what you already said.
Does it leave the app
Nothing.
How to remove it
Erase any remembered fact from the calendar page.

Uploaded files

Stored
Files you upload, kept privately in your account. A file is read only if you switch on “Let the diary learn from this”.
Why
So something you already wrote elsewhere can ground the diary without retyping it.
Does it leave the app
Text from a file you chose to learn from is sent to the AI service to be read. It is not stored there.
How to remove it
Delete the upload on Grounding — everything learned from it goes with it.

Events

Stored
Events you add, and the person you linked them to.
Why
So a heavy entry can sit next to the day it belongs to.
Does it leave the app
Nothing. No outside calendar is read unless you connect one and grant permission.
How to remove it
Delete any event.

Suggestions

Stored
The nudges the app has offered, and your choice to act, dismiss, or never be asked again.
Why
So nothing repeats and nothing nags.
Does it leave the app
Nothing.
How to remove it
“Don’t suggest this again” is remembered permanently.

Remember list

Stored
Things you explicitly ask the Companion to remember, optional timing or place context, and whether each item is open or done.
Why
So a practical intention stays visible until you say it is done.
Does it leave the app
Open items are included in the short brief sent to the Companion so it can remember them in conversation.
How to remove it
Mark an item done or delete it from Remember at any time.

The assistant

The one place text leaves the app, and exactly what goes with it.

What is sent

Stored
Nothing extra. A short brief is assembled at the moment you ask and not kept.
Why
So the companion can answer about your week instead of guessing.
Does it leave the app
Recent non-private entries, people, remembered facts and nearby events go to the model that answers you. Private entries are excluded before the brief is built.
How to remove it
Not applicable — the brief exists only for that one answer.

Conversations

Stored
Nothing, unless you choose to save a conversation as an entry.
Why
So thinking out loud costs you nothing.
Does it leave the app
The turns of the current conversation, for as long as it is open.
How to remove it
“Start over” clears it. Saved conversations are ordinary entries you can delete.

Your rights, in practice

You can read, correct, export by copying, or delete anything on this page from inside the app — no request, no waiting. Deleting an entry also removes the people notes and remembered facts drawn from it. Deleting your account removes every item listed above. If a future feature reads anything outside the app, it will ask you first and appear on this page before it ships.
